In the latest edition of Research in focus, we present selected resources on recent studies as well as European and global initiatives on the theme of cultural diversity. The new waves of migration and the adoption of the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions open up debates around wide range of issues. Have we reached already a common European understanding of cultural diversity and what does it mean in the everyday life or politics? Are the concepts of “diversity” and “identity” antagonistic, or they co-exist peacefully?
