Camões Institute (IC) is the Portuguese agency for external cultural policy under the auspices of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Its main areas of activity are the promotion of Portuguese culture and language teaching at University level, operating in the areas of education, science, culture, sports youth and mass media. It also promotes and supports artistic programmes abroad through touring, translation of books or didactic and pedagogic instruments. Most useful: list of cultural centres abroad.
