The mission of this group of experts was to consider the cultural dimension of European integration and its enlargement process (in a moment when ten Eastern and Central European new member states were about to join the EU), and to discuss new insights for culture and cultural policies at the European level. This publication presents the working process and debates of this Reflection Group, as well as giving each individual member a space to develop their own views on the cultural challenges faced by today's Europe.
