A US-based network of artists’ communities, colonies, and residency programmes. It represents such communities, promotes practices in the field and advocates 'creative environments' that aid artistic work. The Alliance supports 12,000 artists annually, and its members (over 250 of them) come from the US and 12 or so countries worldwide.
